Shorbeak Sedge exhibits thin, green, grass like leaves and grows in clumps. Its common names refer to the rather short, oval shaped seed heads that it produces in late summer. By fall, these seed heads turn an attractive golden brown. It spreads slowly by short rhizomes and self seeding, naturalizing without becoming aggressive. Shortbeak Sedge is hardy and can be
