Macarons were first made in the 8th century but didn't become widely known until two nuns, seeking asylum during the French Revolution, sold the dessert to pay for their housing. These nuns became known as the Macaron Sisters. A portion of our profits go to Memories From Monroe, a nonprofit organization that creates memory boxes for families experiencing infant and pregnancy loss in Michigan.
