19C Nursery Rhyme Childs Light Blue Transferware Plate Little Boy w/ Cows pheasant plate The bouillon fringe trim wasA rare find, this childs nursery plate depicts a little boy blowing a horn standing near two cows. The border around this scene depicts bird, butterflies and flowers within scrolling branches. Below the scene a banner reads "For A Good Child". Childrens nursery rhyme plates were given as gifts to children as rewards for good behaviour. They were also used to encourage morality and as educational aids throughout the early to mid 19th century. Measures:
